The Best Races to Book in Ireland This July 2026

July is one of the best months in the Irish racing calendar. The evenings are long, the weather usually plays ball, and there's a serious spread of races up and down the country. Whether you're chasing a summer 10K PB or just want an excuse for a weekend away with a race at the end of it, there's something below for you.

We've pulled our favourites from this month's calendar. Get in quick though, plenty of these will sell out.

Early July

Rooskey 5K (Wed 1 Jul, Roscommon) kicks off the month with a straightforward 5K by the Shannon. Great one for a midweek blow out.

Coillte 10K (Wed 1 Jul, Tipperary) is in its 41st year and offers both 10K and 5K options. A proper institution at this stage.

B5 Bettystown 5K (Fri 3 Jul, Meath) brings racing to the coast, flat and fast along the beach.

Caltra 5K/10K (Fri 3 Jul, Galway) gives you the choice of distance on a Friday evening, a nice way to kick the weekend off early.

First weekend

Achill Half Marathon & 10K (Sat 4 Jul, Mayo) is as scenic as it gets. Half marathon, 10K or 1 mile options, so bring the whole family and make a day of it on the island.

Joe Duffy Group Clontarf Half Marathon & 5 Mile (Sat 4 Jul, Dublin) stays close to home with a seafront course and options for half marathon, 5 mile or 8K.

Second weekend

The K10K (Sat 11 Jul, Meath) and RunSkibb Half Marathon, 10K & 5K (Sat 11 Jul, Cork) both go on the same Saturday, so take your pick of county.

Sunday brings a real spread. Frank Kilrane 10 Mile Road Race (Offaly), Irish Life Fingal 10K (Dublin) and Abbeyknockmoy Hurling Club 5K, 10K and Half Marathon (Galway) are all on 12 Jul. The Abbeyknockmoy race is a nice one, run by the local hurling club and offering three distances in one event.

Midmonth

Limerick Summer 10km (Thu 16 Jul) is a good midweek target if you're building toward something bigger in autumn.

Night of The 5K PBs (Sat 18 Jul, Wicklow) does exactly what it says, a fast evening 5K built for chasing a personal best.

The Brandon Bay Run (Sat 18 Jul, Kerry) takes in one of the best beaches in the country, with half marathon, 10K and 5K options.

Third weekend

Sunday 19 Jul is a big one for Dublin, with the Athletics Ireland Race Series, Irish Runner 10 Mile Challenge (10 Mile, 5 Mile, 5K) and the Malahide Castle 10K both on the calendar.

Life Style Sports Park West 5K & 10K (Tue 21 Jul, Dublin) rounds out the week with an evening race in Park West.

Final stretch

Frontrunners Cork Pride 5K (Sat 25 Jul, Cork) closes out the month in style, part of Cork Pride weekend.

Blayney Rockets AC 10 Mile Road Race (Sun 26 Jul, Monaghan) brings July home with a proper 10 miler from the local AC.
