Race details
The Achill Half Marathon & 10K Run takes place annually on the first Saturday of July on Achill Island, County Mayo, with the 2026 edition on Saturday 4 July at 10:30am. The course is one of the most scenic half marathons in Ireland, passing vast bogs, golden beaches, and soaring mountains on a circular 21km route. The event is approved by Athletics Association of Ireland and is difficult in places but manageable.
