Race details

The Glenmore Challenge Running Festival takes place on Saturday 13th June at Mullaghbuoy Community Centre on the Cooley Peninsula, Co Louth. Five distances are on offer: 5k, 10k, 10 mile, half marathon and full marathon, all through the Glenmore Valley in the legendary land of the Táin. The half and full marathon routes look out over Omeath, Carlingford Lough and the Mourne Mountains. The marathon starts at 8am and all other races at 10am. Buses bring 5k runners to their start at 9:15am, and walkers are welcome on the 5k. Race packs are available from 7am, with plenty of parking at the community centre.

Every finisher gets a medal, and there are cash prizes and trophies for the top three men and women in every race, with age category and team prizes in the 10 mile. A BBQ and a beer wait for all finishers. Minimum age is 13, the marathon cut off is 6.5 hours, and this year's nominated charity is the Maria Goretti Foundation.
