Race details
The Medieval Marathon takes place in Kilkenny on Saturday 12 September 2026 at 8:15am. The marathon, 30K, and half marathon start on High Street beside the Tholsel; the 10K starts at St Francis Bridge. The route takes in historic city sites before winding out to country roads and back to finish in front of Butler Gallery in the heart of the city. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and tee.
